Music Session Info

DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION

We receive many questions during the year from singers inquiring about the Music Sessions and Debut Artist Award.  These guidelines will help you prepare your application:

Audition dates are coordinated by Board of Directors secretary, Ms. Dorene Marshall. The best time to apply is in early September, however, all applications for a Music Session audition date must be received no later than October 15.

Music Session auditions are generally held in late October, November and December. We generally hear approximately 150- 200 singers. From the field of auditioners, 35-40 Music Session participants and alternates are chosen. Finalists are the top performing 6-8 singers from the Music Sessions. In recent years, the artistic level of applicants has been very high-- several winners are now appearing in international performance venues.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
  • There is no citizenship or residence requirement.
  • There is no age requirement.
  • An accompanist will be provided however, singers may provide their own.
  • The participants or alternates for the Music Sessions are chosen from the live auditions held each fall.
